Its well known that call centres are targeting businesses and individuals pretending to be from BT Broadband.
Their goal is to trick you into thinking there is an issue with your service and that your router is open to hackers for illegal activity.
They usually get you to do a few speed tests and try and comfort you by telling you that they won’t need to go on to your computer to help.
Their goal is to actually open up access of your computer so that they can take vital information from you or add a program that relays the information back to their systems.
My aim is to try and help people to stop them from doing this. Below I have included a YouTube video that has a recent conversation between myself and the scam call centre pretending to be BT.
